I am a firm believer in the power of color on the psyche. I create bold, colorful art to uplift the soul and I paint to express what I am unable to express in words. Color therapy, also known as chromotherapy, is the practice of using colors to improve mental, emotional, and physical health. The idea is that each color has a unique frequency and wavelength that can impact the body and mind in different ways. I have found color therapy to be so helpful with anxiety and depression and I am so grateful I can use painting to help my mental health.

I paint landscapes from my imagination. I use lots of different methods of getting the paint on the canvas-paint brushes, sponges, palette knives, toothbrushes and fingers for blending. I create textures in my work through using crackle paste as a base layer. I use alcohol ink when I am working on fluid and abstract pieces and acrylic paint when working on more traditional landscapes.

My inspiration comes from the beautiful colors in the skies, oceans, forests and mountains-particularly blues. I use contemporary colors and a limited color palette that are intended to elicit a powerful sensory response. When I paint, I am not worrying or thinking about anything but painting and that level of concentration centers me and gives me peace.
